United Kingdom, Nov. 26 -- Police are "committed to investigating" Tara Reid's claims she was "drugged" at a hotel bar and "completely blacked out" for hours.

The 50-year-old star has alleged she "completely blacked out" after having a drink with a stranger at the DoubleTree Hotel in Rosemont near Chicago, before being taken out on a stretcher.

In a statement to PEOPLE, the Rosemont Public Safety Department said: "The Rosemont Public Safety Department understands the severity of the allegations being reported and are committed to investigating this incident fully.
