United Kingdom, Oct. 30 -- Petula Clark fled Elvis Presley's dressing room because she was convinced he "fancied" both her and Karen Carpenter.
The 92-year-old singer and her friend - who died in 1983 aged 32 - had gone to see The King in action in Las Vegas and, after being invited to his dressing room after the show, found the Blue Suede Shoes hitmaker was "quite obviously" thrilled to see them together.
Speaking on UK TV show Loose Women, Petula said: "I was out with Karen Carpenter, she as a friend of mine. We thought, what shall we do? We were in Las Vegas, Elvis was in town, we didn't know him and we thought we'd go and see Elvis.
" We go along, we were received like royalty, given the best seats in the house, which was very nice...
