United Kingdom, Dec. 5 -- A petition to rename Birmingham Airport after the late, great Ozzy Osbourne is nearing 80,000 signatures - but the idea has been grounded.

The Black Sabbath frontman - who would've turned 77 on Wednesday (03.12.25) - passed away in July aged 76, and fans have recently called for his home city's airport to be renamed after him.

A Change.org petition to rename the airport Ozzy Osbourne International has been signed more than 76,000 times, at the time of writing, but the idea looks unlikely to take off, according to Birmingham Airport CEO Nick Barton.
