United Kingdom, Jan. 5 -- One Battle After Another was among the big winners at this year's Critics Choice Awards, taking home the Best Picture prize.

Paul Thomas Anderson's black comedy action thriller picked up the biggest accolade on the night, as well as Best Adapted Screenplay, and the filmmaker also scooped the Best Director gong at the ceremony at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California on Sunday night (04.01.26).

One Battle After Another defeated Bugonia, Frankenstein, Hamnet, Jay Kelly, Marty Supreme, Sentimental Value, Sinners, Train Dreams, and Wicked: For Good to win the Best Picture prize, and Anderson admitted he had the "best time" making the motion picture.
