United Kingdom, Sept. 26 -- Nintendo of America President and Chief Opperating Officer (COO) Doug Bowser is to retire.
The gaming giant has announced Bowser, who joined the company in 2015 and took over from Reggie Fils-Aime in 2019, will step down on December 31, 2025.
During his tenure, Bowser oversaw the launch of the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and became a familiar face in Nintendo Direct presentations.
Reflecting on his departure, Bowser said in a statement: "One of my earliest video game experiences was playing the arcade version of Donkey Kong. Since that time, all things Nintendo have continued to be a passion for both me and my family.
