United Kingdom, Dec. 17 -- Michelle and Barack Obama were due to meet Rob Reiner and his wife Michele on the day they died.

The filmmaker and his wife were both found dead at their Los Angeles home on Sunday (14.12.25), when they were scheduled to meet the former US President and the former First Lady.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Michelle shared: "We've known them for many, many years, and we were supposed to be seeing them that night."

Barack previously took to social media to pay a glowing tribute to the acclaimed filmmaker.
