United Kingdom, May 12 -- Michael Douglas has been hailed a "wonderful" boyfriend by one of his longest-standing exes.

The 80-year-old actor dated actress Brenda Vaccaro, 85, for seven years and even though he has been renowned for his playboy image, she has now spoken fondly of her past relationship with the A-lister, describing their years together as "breathtaking".

She told Page Six: "I do still adore him. I think he's wonderful."

Michael and Brenda were in a relationship in the 1970s after co-starring in the 1971 film 'Summertree'. Brenda also reflected on that time in their lives by telling Page Six: "Oh my God, we were such a gorgeous couple. Breathtaking."
