United Kingdom, Dec. 4 -- Matthew Perry's doctor Salvador Placencia has been sentenced to 30 months in federal prison over his death.
The late Friends actor died from accidental drowning caused by the acute effects of ketamine use in October 2023, aged 54, and Dr. Placencia was one of five people convicted of crimes relating to his passing.
On Wednesday (03.12.25), he became the first person sentenced in his death, while he has also been ordered to pay a $5,600 (£4,195) fine.
Over the summer, he pleaded guilty to four counts of distributing ketamine, which carries a maximum of 40 years in prison, while prosecutors had called for three years.
