United Kingdom, May 19 -- Madonna has "channelled" the memory of her late mother by wearing a wavy brunette wig to recreate her style.

The 66-year-old singer born in Bay City, Michigan - shared a post on Instagram of her sporting the new hairdo after celebrating Mother's Day with five of her six children, and years after Madonna's mother died in 1963 from breast cancer at the age of 30, shortly after giving birth to her sixth child.

Madonna captioned an image of her wearing the wig: "I missed my mother so I channelled her. ."

At the time of her mum's death, Madonna was five years old.
