United Kingdom, Feb. 2 -- Lily Collins'husband Charlie McDowell has slammed criticism aimed at his wife after the couple announced the birth of their daughter Tove via surrogacy.

The 35-year-old actress announced the birth of her and 41-year-old film director Charlie's first child on Instagram, posting a photo of her hand resting on her newborn's chest and telling fans: "She has forever changed our hearts and is the centre of our world."
