United Kingdom, Dec. 11 -- Lauren Cowell has joked a funeral could come before a wedding "at the rate we're going".

The 48-year-old socialite has been engaged to media mogul Simon Cowell since 2021, and she quipped that despite changing her name to take on her partner's moniker, marriage could still be a way off.

Asked by Extra's Terri Seymour if she needs "to be buying a hat anytime soon", Lauren replied: "You mean like for a wedding? Is that what that means?"

When the presenter joked that she meant "for a funeral", Lauren quipped: "Well, who knows which one is going to happen first at the rate we're going?"

Lauren and Simon have 11-year-old son Eric together, and they are given people a hint at their lives in new Netflix docu-series...
