United Kingdom, May 16 -- Kristen Stewart has witnessed "tectonic shifts" in Hollywood.

The 35-year-old star is making her directorial debut with 'The Chronology of Water', a film adaptation of writer Lidia Yuknavitch's memoir, and Kristen has suggested that Hollywood finds itself in the midst of a culture change.

Asked if she's noticed a change during the course of her career, Kristin told The Hollywood Reporter: "I do think there have been some tectonic shifts in terms of who's allowed to take up space and be heard, but at the same time, I don't know what the filters are."

Kristen believes it'll be easier to evaluate the change "in retrospect".
