United Kingdom, Feb. 4 -- Julia Stiles got "starstruck" by Taylor Swift.

The 43-year-old actress attended the same party as the 35-year-old pop superstar and was "taken aback" when the 'Shake It Off' hitmaker approached her and said some "really nice things" to her.

She told PEOPLE magazine: "I was at a party, and Taylor Swift showed up. I wasn't going to bother her, and she actually came over to me and said some really nice things.

"I was so taken aback, it was all a blur. But I know I stood in the presence of Taylor Swift, and she was really sweet."
