United Kingdom, Nov. 17 -- Jonathan Bailey has bemoaned the "limiting narratives" that stifle aspiring stars.

The 37-year-old actor - who recently became the first-ever gay man to win People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive accolade - feels frustrated that would-be actors and actresses continue to see their ambitions undermined by factors outside of their control, such as their race, class and sexuality.

Jonathan - who is a patron of Just Like Us, a charity that works with LGBT youth in UK schools - told Sky News: "This is beyond sexuality, it's race, it's class, it is where you're from, we are all given limiting narratives that we have to break free of.
