United Kingdom, Jan. 6 -- Bodybuilder-turned-actress Jayne Trcka has been found dead at her home in California.

The 62 year old - who appeared in 2000 horror comedy Scary Movie - was discovered unresponsive in the kitchen of her property in San Diego by a friend who had gone over to check on her after Trcka failed to answer a number of phone calls over several days, according to TMZ.com.

The publication reports emergency services were called and paramedics declared Trcka dead at the scene. The tragedy occurred on December 12, according to Trcka's son.

He is said to have told the website he was unaware of any underlying medical conditions which could have led to his mother's death.
