United Kingdom, Jan. 12 -- Paul Thomas Anderson took home the coveted Best Director prize at Sunday's (11.01.26) Golden Globe Awards.
The 55-year-old filmmaker scooped the accolade for One Battle After Another, taking the prize ahead of Ryan Coogler (Sinners), Guillermo del Toro (Frankenstein), Jafar Panahi (It Was Just an Accident), Joachim Trier (Sentimental Value) and Chloe Zhao (Hamnet).
In his acceptance speech, Paul dedicated the award in part to Warner Bros. chair Mike De Luca, who he first met over 30 years ago and said he had "singlehandedly has supported me and the movies I wanted to make."
The director then got emotional as he paid tribute to assistant director Adam Somner, who passed away in late 2024 at the age of 57.
