United Kingdom, April 14 -- Shirley Manson suffered "a lot of indignity" after hip replacement surgery.

The Garbage frontwoman underwent the first operation in 2023 - five years after she first injured her hip falling off stage at a gig in Los Angeles in 2016 - and she returned for a second surgery the following year after her other hip "collapsed" shortly before the band was due to play a huge show in London - and the singer has admitted the experience was both "depressing" and "wonderful".

She told the Guardian newspaper: "I tumbled into the security barrier. I smashed my hip pretty badly, but it took five years for it to disintegrate ...
