United Kingdom, Dec. 15 -- Eric Idle spoke to Rob Reiner just hours before his death.

The 82-year-old Monty Python star had been friends with Reiner since the 1970s after meeting him through his comedian father Carl Reiner and he's now revealed he had a long conversation with his pal shortly before he was found dead at his home in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles on Sunday (14.12.25) alongside his wife Michele Singer Reiner.

In a post on X, Idle wrote: "Rob Reiner was a lovely man. I spoke to him last night for over an hour. I always enjoyed his company.

"I met him at his Dad's in 1975. He was telling me about filming at Stonehenge and his thoughts for the future."

Idle added of the tragic news of Reiner's death: "This is so awful. I...
