United Kingdom, Feb. 15 -- Jesse McCartney is to become a dad for the first time.

The 37-year-old singer has been married to Katie Peterson since 2021 and has now announced that their first baby is due in August.

He wrote on Instagram: "Our lil Valentine [rose emoji, teddy bear emoji] arriving 8/8 xo, JK."

Jesse -who shot to fame in the early 2000s with the release of his now-signature track 'Beautiful Soul' recently told of his plans to start a family amid a musical comeback.

Asked if he and his wife had thought about kids, he told JustJared: "Yeah, we talk about it a lot. And I think that's definitely in the cards in the near future."
