United Kingdom, May 9 -- David Beckham is "delighted" to be part of Salford City FC's new ownership group.
The 50-year-old former England captain and his ex-teammate Gary Neville are leading a new ownership group at the League Two soccer team.
David - who joined Manchester United at the age of 14 - said in a statement: "I grew up in Salford . I have such fond memories of my time living there and the place and its people played such an important part in my early life in football."
David first became a shareholder in Salford in 2019, and the soccer icon is "delighted" to be leading the club into its next chapter.
