United Kingdom, May 28 -- Ed Gale has died aged 61.

The actor -best known for portraying murderous doll Chucky in the 'Child's Play' horror franchise, passed away suddenly while under investigation for alleged attempts to solicit sex from minors, it emerged on Wednesday. (28.05.25.)

His family said in a statement: "It is with a heavy heart and a surprisingly light coffin (see what I did there?) that we announce the sudden passing of our uncle.

"Ed Gale has taken his final bow and is now headlining in the afterlife."
