United Kingdom, Aug. 6 -- Christina Applegate has been admitted to hospital after falling ill with a kidney infection.

The 53-year-old Dead To Me star has revealed she fell sick during a trip to Europe with pain and stomach issues and was left "screaming" in agony so she checked herself into a hospital as soon as she landed back in Los Angeles to undergo tests and "get some answers".

During an episode of her MeSsy podcast, which she recorded from her hospital bed, Christina explained: "I'm like, I wanna be admitted. I'm staying here because I want answers. I want every test that you can possibly think of or ones that you haven't even thought of, and I want them done."
