United Kingdom, Feb. 2 -- Cher baffled the crowd at the Grammy Awards by mistakenly announcing Luther Vandross as the winner of Record of the Year.
The 79-year-old pop superstar took to the stage at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday night (02.02.26) to present the coveted prize but she fumbled the announcement and called Luther Vandross' name before swiftly correcting herself and giving the prize to real winner Kendrick Lamar, who won Record of the Year for his SZA collaboration Luther.
Cher said: "And the Grammy goes to . Oh! They told me it was going to be on a prompter. Oh, the Grammy goes to Luther Vandross. Oh Kendrick, no Kendrick Lamar!"
