United Kingdom, Feb. 16 -- Dame Maggie Smith was remembered at the EE BAFTA Awards on Sunday (16.02.25) evening.

The legendary actress passed away in September 2024 at the age of 89, and a clip from her famed portrayal of Professor McGonagall in the 'Harry Potter' film series closed out the in-memoriam segment of the annual ceremony.

Some of the other biggest stars who received a tribute during the British Academy Film Awards included 'Star Wars' actor James Earl Jones - who died just weeks before Maggie at the age of 91 - almost 50 years after he cemented his place in history as the voice of Darth Vader.
