United Kingdom, Aug. 8 -- Alicia Silverstone has vowed to "honour" the original Clueless in the upcoming follow-up TV show.

The 48-year-old actress shot to fame playing pampered teenager Cher Horowitz in the 1995 movie and she revealed in April she'd be reprising the role for Peacock's upcoming programme, and while she admitted there is "not much" she can discuss about it, she promised it will bring "something fresh and new" to the characters while staying true to the original premise.

Speaking on TODAY, she said: "I'm really excited about it. I think we're going to try really hard. The goal is to make it honour what everyone loves about Clueless and Cher.
