United Kingdom, Dec. 5 -- January Jones has opened up about "struggling" with a health condition that has "gotten progressively worse over the years".

The Mad Men actress - who played Betty Draper in the series - took to Instagram to tell fans she suffers from misophonia, an extreme emotional reaction to certain everyday sounds, and it is particularly bad when her brother-in-law is crunching crisps around her.

She said in an Instagram video: "For today, I'd like to talk about something that I've been struggling with my whole life, which is called misophonia.

"My whole life, and it's gotten progressively worse over the years.

"I have a brother-in-law whose favourite food is chips. Just all the time eating chips.
