United Kingdom, March 9 -- James Safechuck claimed "a part of [him] died" after he was allegedly abused by Michael Jackson.

The 47 year old - who has claimed he was molested by the late singer from the age of 10 until his early teens - stayed close to the 'Thriller' hitmaker for some time after the alleged abuse ended but long after their bond evaporated, he was still dealing with the impact of what had happened.

He told the Times newspaper: "I think a part of me died. You are dead inside.

"You go numb - you don't learn how to process events, good or bad. The self-hatred was really intense, but you don't know why you hate yourself. I know now that it's because instead of hating Michael, I hated myself."
