United Kingdom, Feb. 6 -- MachineGames has insisted it will complete the Wolfenstein trilogy.

After releasing the second instalment in its first-person-shooter series Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus in 2017, the studio pivoted to the action-adventure title Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and despite the near-10 year hiatus from Wolfenstein, MachineGames has promised to make the third game.

During an interview with GamesIndustry.Biz, MachineGames studio director Jerk Gustafsson said: "Our intention has always been to go back to Wolfenstein.

"We wanted to finish the trilogy. And when we do that, that is something that I don't want to comment on.

"It can be now, it can be later, but we're not done with it. That's what I can say."
