United Kingdom, Oct. 15 -- Banjo-Kazooie director Grey Mayles has officially left Rare.

The developer had been at the studio for 36 years and had released several instalments in Rare's beloved platformer series under his tenure, but Mayles has now confirmed he has exited the studio.

In a post on X, Mayles wrote: "Today was my last day at Rare. Thanks to everyone who played and enjoyed any of the games I helped create while I was there.

"Also thanks to all the people that worked on the games alongside me. It seemed fitting that I should say farewell with one final rhyme!"

Mayles - who worked on over 30 games during his time at Rare - then posted a poem he wrote about his experience at the studio.
