United Kingdom, Oct. 14 -- Asssassin's Creed franchise head Marc-Alexis Cote has reportedly left Ubisoft.

According to IGN, the developer - who joined the studio in 2005 - has parted ways with Ubisoft, just after the publisher announced it had partnered with Tencent to form Vantage Studios, which will oversee the Assassin's Creed series from now on.

IGN claims Ubisoft staff were informed of Cote's departure on Tuesday (14.10.25) in an internal email, which also discussed how Vantage's leadership needs to be aligned with its core goals.

Vantage - which Ubisoft and Tencent each have a 25 per cent stake in - will also oversee the Rainbow Six and Far Cry franchises.
