Kenya, July 10 -- At some point in a man's life, the truth hits him so hard that he finds it difficult to breathe. For me, that moment was when I finally took a close look at the baby I had been calling my daughter for nearly seven months and saw that her forehead, her smile, and even the curve of her ears didn't resemble me at all, but they did perfectly match the man who used to come get our rent every month.

I will admit that when my wife first admitted to cheating, it almost broke me, but I decided to put peace before pain and told her that marriage meant forgiving and moving on. I took in my pride and told her that we were going to nurture the child collectively because, in the eyes of other people and the church, she was mine as long as she was born during our marriage.
