Kenya, July 14 -- Most guys would never have the guts to share this experience. However, I'm sharing it because I know that someone else is also dying in quiet. I thought I had it all, you see. A wonderful career, people who admired me, and a wife who looked flawless. However, I harboured a secret guilt that I was unable to articulate. I was a joke in the bedroom. I didn't perform well. I was unable to endure.
Even worse, I lacked sufficient resources. At first, her body language spoke louder than words ever could. The groans. When we were finished, the way she turned away. The phoney groans. Until she spewed it out one day during a minor argument: "Toka hapa na hiyo yako toothpick na." Not even able to please me! I went cold. She referred to me as a toothpick. I was broken by that day.
