Kenya, April 11 -- An anonymous hacker has issued a chilling threat to expose sensitive information about a Kenyan TikToker, Boina, well known as @thatgirlboina, unless she pays KSh 25,000. Watch the leaked webcam video.
The incident, which surfaced on social media platforms, has sparked concerns over rising cyber extortion cases in the country.
According to sources close to the matter, Boina received a message from an unidentified individual claiming to possess compromising personal data.
The hacker allegedly demanded that the payment be sent via mobile money transfer within 48 hours, threatening to leak the explicit content to the public if the ransom is not met.
Authorities have yet to confirm the credibility of the threat or the nature of the information in question.
However, cybersecurity experts are urging Kenyans to remain vigilant amid a surge in online scams targeting unsuspecting individuals.
"I'm a hacker who has access to your device. I have been watching everything you do online. I gained access to your device a few weeks ago through malware exploits, including your webcam, files, and browsing history, among other things.
"I hacked your webcam and recorded a video of you during an adult video visit. I uploaded it to a private server and need Sh 25000 to delete it," the hacker said.
