Kenya, May 13 -- Nicole Joyce Berry, whose real name is Joyce Mbaga, a prominent Tanzanian actress, model, and entrepreneur, has recently made headlines not only for her contributions to the entertainment industry but also for her involvement in a high-profile economic sabotage case.

Actress Joyce Mbaga, 32, also known as Nicole Berry, and her accomplice Rehema Mahanyu, 31, were arraigned before the Kivukoni Resident Magistrate Court in Kinondoni for an economic sabotage case involving fraud.

Known for her captivating presence in music videos and television, Berry's personal and professional life continues to draw public interest.

Berry, born on May 25, 1993, in Mtwara, Tanzania, rose to fame after appearing as a video vixen in Harmonize's hit song "Bed Room."

The appearance sparked rumours of a romantic link with the musician, which were later debunked as the two confirmed they were just friends.

Her curvaceous figure and vibrant social media presence, boasting over 1 million Instagram followers, have solidified her status as a leading figure in Tanzanian pop culture.

She is also the founder of Nicole Berry Beauty and a reality TV host, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit.

Details about Berry's personal life, including her husband and family, remain largely private.

Sources indicate she is single but dating. Her friend revealed that she was dating a famous Tanzanian businessman.

Her focus appears to be on her multifaceted career, which spans acting, fashion design, and farming, where she is known to rear cows and engage in planting.

In the entertainment realm, Berry has featured in several music videos and appeared in the TV series Huba on DSTV's Maisha Magic Bongo channel.

While she is primarily recognized for her modelling and video vixen roles, her acting career is gaining traction, with fans anticipating more screen appearances.

However, Berry's rising star has been overshadowed by legal troubles. On March 10, 2025, she was arraigned before the Kivukoni Resident Magistrate's Court in Dar es Salaam, facing charges of economic sabotage alongside accomplice Rehema Mahanyu.

The charges allege that between July 2024 and March 2025, Berry led a criminal gang and operated an unlicensed payment system, receiving over 185.51 million Tanzanian shillings from the public without authorization from the Bank of Tanzania.

Additionally, police reported a surge in victims claiming Berry defrauded them of over 100 million shillings through a social media scam.
