Kenya, March 24 -- Public transport service company Super Metro is now allowed to resume operations after the Transport Licensing Appeal Board suspended the National Transport and Safety Authority's (NTSA) ban.
In an order issued on Monday, March 24, board chairman Adrian Kamotho directed that the suspension be lifted immediately, allowing the company to operate while complying with legal requirements.
The directive was also served to the Inspector General of Police.
Super Metro's licence had been revoked on Thursday March 20 after NTSA cited multiple violations, including expired inspection and speed limiter certificates, non-compliant driver credentials, and failure to meet safety regulations.
The authority required the company to present 294 vehicles for compliance checks and send 42 drivers for retesting.
Following the ruling, Super Metro began presenting its fleet for inspection at the Likoni Road testing centre in Nairobi.
Authorities are expected to monitor its adherence to the set regulations in the coming days.
