
Kenya, July 14 -- When a mature guy with a full cart of muscles and a beard sobs in a lodge and utters the words, "Acha tu, amenipata," you know it's serious. You can tell then that the connection is not kawaida. It's wonderful, or filthy, or both. He and I met during my cousin's graduation celebration. He wasn't ostentatious or noisy. As if he were averse to attention, he simply stood in the corner drinking cola. But I knew my waist had reached its objective when he grinned.
"I don't know what you put in that smile, but I haven't stopped praying since," he texted me the following day. I chuckled. However, I secretly thought, "God, this work is amazing." We had a lovely talk stage. In the middle of the night, he would contact me and tell me that he had a dream in which I was singing him lullabies while wearing a white leso.
