Some, however, leave your mouth feeling as dry as if you had swallowed scorching ash, cause your heart to beat a little quicker, and lodge in your brain. I received a message like that that evening. My kid and I were watching cartoons on our couch. It buzzed on my phone. Casually checking, I assumed it was my wife asking me to reheat her tea.

However, it wasn't her name that appeared on the screen. The guy who had performed our wedding, touched our heads, and even talked about purity as if his tongue had never experienced temptation was Pastor J.
