Kenya, March 10 -- A man from Nairobi has started a big conversation online after asking Raila Odinga, a leader of the Azimio party, to keep his promise of giving KSh 6,000 every month to families in need.

At a gathering called Bunge la Wananchi, the man said that now that Raila is officially part of President William Ruto's government, he should make sure this promise happens soon.

The man explained that when Raila was in opposition, he didn't ask for these promises to be fulfilled because he knew he didn't control government money.

But now that Raila is in power, he was looking forward to seeing these important plans for helping people put into action.

"I was waiting for this day (when Raila would join the government). Now he is in government, the promise of KSh 6,000 per month should start right away," the man said, and the crowd praised him.

He also pointed out that Raila now has a lot of power in the government, which makes it easier to carry out his plans without many problems.

"Baba (which means 'father,' often used to refer to Raila) will be the main decision-maker in this government for the next two years," he stated, showing his faith in Raila's ability to make changes.

These comments caused mixed reactions from Kenyans online. Some people agreed with the man's message, while others questioned if giving KSh 6,000 every month was possible with the current economic situation.

"He really thought Baba was going to keep that promise? The fact that Raila joined the government is proof that he was never going to fight corruption and recover the loot (from where he was going to get the 6,000/- to dish out)."Solomon Mwangi:

"Yes, Kenyans want the 6k every month that Raila promised, otherwise he goes and eats Kenyans taxes quietly. All those other things he's talking about are things Kenyans have been asking for anyway."
