Kenya, May 27 -- No one in our town anticipated hearing the name of a quiet, unemployed man who frequently borrowed data bundles from kiosks to access the betting app when the local radio station reported the week's greatest sports betting win.We hardly recognised the winner of the prize, which was worth over 13 million shillings. Many people dismissed the winner as a hopeless idealist.He used to spend hours glued to his phone under a tree close to the shopping centre, as his neighbours remembered. They referred to him as "Mr Odds", laughed at him, and claimed he was pursuing his fantasies.He was even cautioned by certain store owners not to request mobile loan advances in order to risk his "imaginary millions". But when he arrived in town one Sunday, everything was different.
