Kenya, July 20 -- Shouting caused someone to leave me, which surprised me. I was simply broke, furious, and frustrated. In this tumultuous existence, the only thing that gave me a sense of security was my partner. But I damaged even that. It had been a year since we started dating. I was in between jobs, and he owned a little business. It was a difficult life.

Arguments would arise over anything, no matter how minor. He'd attempt to remain cool when I yelled at him. Then he had enough one day. After gathering his belongings, he left. No farewell. No, "I'll give you a call later." Nothing but quiet. I pretended to be tough at first. I said to my buddies, "Give him up." At night, though, I would sob into my pillow. He was missed. His poor jokes, his sporadic calls, and his smile. Everything. However, I had no idea how to fix it. I had referred to him in a variety of ways, including as a coward and a loser.
