Kenya, March 22 -- Tim Wanyonyi has said that he will not be scared or discouraged from running for the Nairobi Governor's seat in 2027.

In an interview on Saturday, Wanyonyi stated, "I am ready to take on this challenge and will not give in to any intimidation.

"What matters most is that I have the support of the people. I will keep working for the people of Nairobi, no matter the obstacles I face."

This statement comes after Raila made comments that seemed to show he supports the current Governor, Johnson Sakaja, for the upcoming election.

Wanyonyi reflected on the issues he faced in 2022 when his party, the Orange Democratic Movement, did not give him a ticket to run. He said he has learned a lot from that experience.

"I am now more alert and ready to fight. Anyone who thinks they will get a free ticket should prepare for a tough competition.

"It will not be easy for those people who have only been following Baba (Raila) around hoping for an easy win," Wanyonyi added.
