Kenya, May 5 -- The death of a young man in Timboroa, Baringo County, has caused anger among people and serious criticism of the local police.
Many are accusing the police of not taking action and being involved in the situation.
The young man died after being badly beaten and tortured by a local group called "Kiama Kia Ma" last week.
Witnesses and shocking video clips shared online show that the young man and two others were accused of stealing and selling scrap metal.
They were then attacked for a long time by a group of people, whose faces can be seen in the videos.
While the police say this was a case of mob justice, local residents do not agree. They believe the attack was planned and done by specific people, not by a large crowd acting in anger.
The family of the victim is very upset. They say that, no matter the accusations, the young man did not deserve such cruel punishment and that justice should be sought through the legal system.
There are growing fears that the authorities may be ignoring the situation or not acting quickly to arrest those responsible.
This incident has increased tensions in Timboroa, and residents are now asking the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) to step in and ensure that justice happens soon.
