Kenya, May 21 -- Liverpool FC has reportedly offered a new four-year contract to their young centre-back, Wellity Lucky, who is 19 years old. His current contract will end this summer, according to sources close to the club.
Lucky, who was born in Spain and has Nigerian roots, is a regular player for Liverpool's U21 team.
He has caught the attention of clubs in Spain and Germany, so Liverpool wants to keep him.
Lucky signed his first professional contract with Liverpool in April 2023 and has been a standout player in the youth team. He has played in all four of their matches in the UEFA Youth League this season.
With his contract about to end, talks have become more urgent, and other clubs are interested in him.
Teams in La Liga (Spain) and the Bundesliga (Germany) are speaking with Lucky's representatives, hoping to sign him away from Liverpool.
Liverpool's management wants to keep the teenager because they see him as a valuable player for the future, especially as they prepare for changes with key players like Trent Alexander-Arnold leaving the club this summer.
It is still uncertain if Lucky will accept the new contract or choose to move to another country, where he could connect with his Spanish background or gain international experience with England's youth teams.
