Kenya, March 15 -- The Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) is getting ready to open a new attraction: dancing water fountains that are said to be even better than those at the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

This exciting project, which will start later this year, will cost Ksh 100 million, according to KICC management.

The fountains will move water in sync with music and colourful lights, aiming to make Nairobi a popular place for tourists. KICC CEO James Mwaura called this project a "game-changer."

He said, "This will not only be like the Burj Khalifa but even better, showing how innovative and ambitious Kenya is on the world stage."

The project will use advanced technology from Europe, and local engineers are working together to make it happen.

Responses to this announcement have been mixed. Many people in tourism believe the fountains will attract more visitors to KICC, which has hosted many international events over the years.

However, some critics question spending so much money when there are important needs in the country, like healthcare and education.

A Nairobi resident, Mary Wanjiku, said, "Ksh 100 million for dancing water? We need to focus on what's really important."

Construction is already starting at the KICC grounds, and it is expected to finish by late 2025.

Officials promise a big opening event with performances and a chance for the public to see the fountains in action.

If everything goes well, this project could make KICC a must-visit place and compete with Dubai's famous water shows.
