Kenya, April 1 -- Kakamega Senator Boniface Khalwale has asked President William Ruto and opposition leader Raila Odinga to include Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua in their efforts for national unity. He questioned how sincere their efforts could be if important leaders were left out.

Speaking on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, Khalwale said that real unity can't happen without all major political figures, including Gachagua, who has been important in Kenya's politics.

Khalwale's comments come at a time when Ruto and Raila are talking about bringing people together after a period of political tension.

The senator challenged both leaders to show they really want unity by involving Gachagua, especially since their relationship has been strained recently.

"If they truly want unity, it must include everyone. Gachagua should be part of the talks," Khalwale said, encouraging the leaders to set aside personal differences for the country's stability.
