Kenya, May 19 -- Soweto Kayole detectives nab a fake cop in a full police uniform. Detectives in Soweto Kayole have arrested a 30-year-old man named Daniel Mori Mohere. He was pretending to be a police officer and wore realistic police uniforms, boots, and accessories.
Mohere was acting like he was in charge as a station commander. He was caught after people in the community became suspicious about whether he was really an officer.
Officials found out that Mohere's badge and documents were fake. They described his actions as "vibes and lies," meaning he was pretending and not telling the truth.
Many in the community are shocked because they wonder how many people may have believed he was a real police officer and followed his commands.
Police are now investigating to find out what other things Mohere may have done while pretending to be an officer.
Residents are asking police to improve security to stop similar situations from happening in the future.
