Kenya, April 19 -- Former Meru County Governor Kawira Mwangaza, now ousted from office, is exploring new avenues to generate income through social media content creation, an idea sparked during a casual Easter drive with her husband, Murega Baichu.

The couple, captured in a relaxed moment in a Facebook video posted on April 17, discussed monetizing Mwangaza's social media account to offset financial challenges following her removal from the county payroll.

Mwangaza revealed she was removed from the payroll on March 14, 2025, after the High Court in Nairobi upheld her impeachment.

Justice Bahati Mwamuye dismissed her petition challenging the Senate's ratification of her impeachment by Meru MCAs in August 2024, stating the petition lacked merit.

The former governor, no longer receiving a payslip, expressed optimism about being reinstated to the payroll, though no such developments have been confirmed.

In the video, Baichu playfully asked, "By the way, have you monetized this account?" Mwangaza responded that she had not.

"You should monetize this account so you can be earning from livestreams because of your slip.," Baichu quipped, laughing.

Mwangaza, now identified as a preacher and farmer, appeared upbeat, thanking God for the time spent with family over Christmas and Easter.

The former governor's shift to content creation highlights her efforts to adapt to life after politics, as she navigates financial uncertainty while maintaining a public presence.
