Kenya, April 24 -- The postmortem examination for the late Kariobangi North MCA, Joel Munuve, which was supposed to happen on Thursday, has been moved to Friday at 9 a.m.
This change was made after a meeting with Munuve's family, the Homicide Unit from the DCI in Nairobi, government doctors, and some political leaders, as shared by family lawyer Danstan Omari.
Omari said, "After talking with the family, the Homicide Unit, and the late MCA's political team, we agreed to move the autopsy to tomorrow instead of today."
Joel Munuve died on April 22. He began to feel chest pains while going to his office in Nairobi's central area.
Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Kennedy Ngondi confirmed, "He was taken to the hospital but unfortunately died there."
Munuve's death has led to many questions because he was working on gathering signatures to remove Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja from his position before he died.
In an interview on Citizen TV's JKL Live show, Sakaja denied any involvement, saying, "I believe in respecting people's opinions and do not support silencing those who disagree with me."
The unclear situation surrounding Munuve's death is still raising concerns, and the now postponed autopsy will hopefully give more answers.
The Homicide Unit from the DCI has not yet given an official comment about the investigation.
