Kenya, March 11 -- Jamie White, a reporter for the controversial media outlet InfoWars, was fatally wounded outside his apartment in Austin late Sunday night, police confirmed.
The incident, which occurred around midnight on March 9, 2025, has been classified as the eighth homicide in the city this year.
Details surrounding the attack remain scarce, and authorities have not released information about suspects or a possible motive.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the incident was reported but were unable to save White, who was pronounced dead at the location.
InfoWars founder Alex Jones addressed the killing in a public statement on Monday, pointing fingers at Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza.
Jones claimed that Garza's policies have contributed to a climate of lax law enforcement, which he alleged may have played a role in White's death.
"This is what happens when you let criminals run wild and tie the hands of police," Jones said.
However, no official sources have substantiated these claims, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Austin police have declined to comment on Jones' assertions, stating only that they are actively investigating the circumstances of the homicide.
The department urged anyone with information to come forward as they work to determine the events leading up to the fatal incident.
White's death adds to a growing tally of homicides in Austin in 2025, though it is unclear if this case is connected to broader crime trends in the city.
