Kenya, July 20 -- I was usually the quiet, industrious person at work. I never created any drama. I was on time, completed my assignments, and even jumped in to help those who were falling behind. However, I was passed over for advancements year after year. Those who had just joined were advancing. Me? I continued earning the same income in the same role. I hoped they would notice me eventually.I had enough one day. My coworker, who was constantly playing on her phone, was promoted. She was my boss now. I felt stuck, furious, and unheard.
